Exceptional - Will be back!

Was originally put off by the price but in the end I should have been comforted by that. The quality is exceptional, it fits perfectly and I love it. Will be back for more from Jottnar!!!

Hjalmar

I own quite a lot of Jottnar's products and by and large they have proven to be great quality. I bought this jacket to primarily use for Ultra events in the hills and on trails. I normally buy a large with Jottnar but the fit here is tight so be careful. I love how light weight the jacket is, the quality is what you would expect from Jottnar and it seems to perform well in heavy rain but it does run hot when you increase output and the elasticated sleeves don't allow you to properly vent which is a pain. I haven't climbed in the jacket yet (thanks COVID !) but I am sure it will work well in alpine conditions

Excellent product

Another great product from Jottnar.
I wanted a lighter weight waterproof to complement my Grimm hershel and wasn't disappointed.
Quite minimalist but just the thing over a baselayer.
It's a slim fit but still perfect for climbing, hiking and biking.

Super Lightweight Shell

Pros: Excellent quality. The finish on all Jottnar products is top tier. The fabric is super lightweight but appears tough. The fabric has a touch of stretch to it. This jacket is an athletic fit/climbing fit which I like. All and all it’s a great spring/fall lightweight shell. Cons: The Hjalmar seemed to me to be noticeably hotter than my Rab kinetic 2.0 jacket ( 2.5 layer waterproof shell). The Hjalmar hood has a tight neck portion. This increases visibility by letting the hood pivot with your head. The zipper rested by the underside of my chin and tight against my neck which was a noticeable pressure. Finally, the zipper pull is small. This did not affect its function but it is noticeably small( just a preference issue). Finally, my criticisms of the Hjalmar are on small personal preferences. I don’t think it should deter an alpine climber from trying this shell out.

Amazing

Really well made, a cut above any other makes I’ve used over the last 30 years. Expensive but worth it
