Lightweight and waterproof

Im 196cm tall, 43inch chest, 34 inch waste, athletic build - wide shoulders, long arms, skinny waste.

I usually buy norrona as nothing else fits (others like arcteryx are too fat, not long enough).

I have a norrona trollveggen pro which is bombproof but yoo heavy for alpine and daily use

The jormun is long enough in arms , slim enough amd just long enouh in body for me. I wpuld like an imchore in the front but thats ok.

The material is waterproof and not as noisey as gtex pro. Breathability is hard to assess but pit zips do the job for tabbing around chamonix in April.
Hood is good for helmet and robust elastic - my trollvegen light pro jacket was my favourite fit but the elastics went after a few days in the alps so i sent back. This is more robust but not as long.

Overally i would reccommend for 3 season shell. If it was longer im sure it would do me for full scottish winter but im not climbing fast enough so the norrona trollveggen pro is still my go to for that.

Note i tried the XL but it was way to baggy in the stomach for me. The length was great. I can still fit a rab microlight or and baselayer under the Large then throw a belay jacket over the top which is fine.
Wish they did better colours but the red/orange is nice enough

There’s are a few reasons I consistently buy Jottnar products, they’re always so well thought out and well made. A great fit and nice colour way an added bonus, I’ve had this jacket out in awful weather and it excelled, when paired with a mid layer is was the perfect combination to keep me warm and dry. Five star garment again.

This is a superb jacket - it's robust, very packable and incredibly weatherproof. It's put up with heavy rain, sleet and strong winds (including Coastguard helicopter downdraft - a long story) and shrugged them all off. It's very good at what it's designed to do and has served me well in the Cairngorms and Yorkshire.

The downsides - the internal pockets are a bit small and I'd only use them if I was using this as a winter jacket (this is a three-season shell for me), the sleeves are a bit long but I have the same problem with other manufacturers and the hood adjustment at the back of the hood can be a bit stiff. This is me being pretty picky about a few small points.

Size-wise, I'm 5'6" tall with a 40" chest and a medium's a good fit (sleeves notwithstanding) - it's a good length, pockets are above rucksack waist belts and there is space for layering underneath.

In short, there is a superb jacket that's very usable in wide range of environments.

I’d been looking to buy a new waterproof jacket for some time and did plenty of research till finding Jottnar’s Jormun Jacket. I was drawn to Jottnar goods by the very helpful technical detail on what they sell and excellent company presentation. In addition the feedback from previous customers on all goods was very useful too. I particularly found comments on sizing helpful. I’m 6’ and 14st. 3lb with quite a large chest and shoulders so was concerned about a jacket being too small or indeed having too much room – I went for the Large, it’s an excellent fit and looks good too. Sizing can be tricky especially when gear is more of the ‘athletic fit’ than I’m used to, but by following the guides and other customers feedback on sizing, I’ve found the perfect fits for the other gear I’ve got too. The one occasion I did get it ‘wrong’ an exchange was very quickly sent to me. Excellent clothing, first rate customer service through Morgan and as time passes and the gear gets put through its paces I’m confident it will prove its worth.

First trip out was a hideously windy and soggy day up to Snowdon.

Successfully held out the rain and the wind and was large enough to fit an Asger underneath when things got chilly.

I found it rode up a little when scrambling which is a little frustrating but otherwise this jacket is great.

I’m 5’7 and wear a medium, and this was a great fit for me
