Men's Toughened Goose Down Jacket

Having purchased my new jacket the first thing l noticed was the quality of the jacket.
The length at the back ( tail) is great plus being 6 ft tall l found the arms are quite long which is a first for me.
Overall l am very pleased with this purchase.

My first high end puffer, looked at multiple other brands in the price point. The fit is better and you can feel the quality - now I just need to wait for winter to see how warm it is

It’s of top quality materials and I can tell it will keep me warm in the winter.

So I’ve tried a fair few of the ‘major brand’s’ down jackets- and sent them back- being very disappointed with their construction and build quality.

Some felt cheap and tatty like a plastic bag filled with feathers, others came apart with stitching fraying ten minutes after i took them out of the packaging, whilst one very premium coat I tried last year was ridiculously cold with the wind rattling through it, even with four layers underneath.

If you’ve got one, then you can imagine my relief when I ordered the Thorne and took it out of its very tasteful packaging.
The quality of the materials is excellent, with a tough but soft feeling and the stitching is high grade, strong, very closely sewn and perfectly straight that will not come undone.
Little touches like the cuffs, zip garages, embroidered logo and hem stoppers just add to the premium feel.

As for fit, depending on how much I eat I’m between 39-41 inch chest and I ordered a medium, but Im stocky at 5’9 with large shoulders and arms and found these areas to be a little tight with 3 layers on underneath- but still liveable, with the lower chest and stomach area having excess room- which is handy for layering.

Havnt tested for warmth yet but with a jumper and fleece underneath and a hard shell over the top I was sweating.

I could be wrong, but I reckon this is the best quality down jacket in its weight category on the market. It’s better than Microlight, Anti-Freeze, Expedition Down and a few others.

Finally pleased with a purchase, so I won’t be freezing this winter as I work and walk outside- Thank You Jottnar (and Morgan, ya total legend!)

Love this jacket. Very warm without being bulky.
Sizing is generous which I like. Slowly updating my gear to Jottnar.
